The Trail Pass Trek—also known as Traill’s Pass or Pindari–Milam Pass—is one of the most challenging and least explored trekking routes in the Kumaon Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of ~5,310 m (17,400 ft), the pass connects the Pindari Glacier in the south to the Milam Glacier in the north. Starting from the quaint hill town of Munsiyari, the trail follows the Gori Ganga River valley, passing ancient villages, rhododendron forests, and high-altitude meadows before reaching the base of Nanda Devi East and Nanda Devi South peaks.
Named after George William Traill, the first British Commissioner of Kumaon, this expedition offers a rare chance to traverse glacial landscapes, dramatic ridges, and unspoiled high-mountain wilderness.
